7 PRINCIPLES OF GOOD WEB DESIGN

An effective website design should be able to do what it’s supposed to do while also making the visitor want to stay and look around. There are many things that make a good website design, such as consistency, colors, typography, imagery, simplicity, and functionality.

When making a website, there are a lot of things that will affect how people see it. A well-designed website can help people trust it and get them to do what they want to do. Creating a great user experience means making sure your website design is easy to use (form and aesthetics) and that it is easy for people to use (functionality).

1. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE WEBSITE

Your website should be able to meet the needs of the people who use it. When people see simple, clear goals on all of your pages, they will be more likely to interact with your site. What is the reason for your website? Are you giving real-world advice, like a “how-to guide”? Is it a site for fun, like sports coverage, or are you selling something to the user? There are a lot of different things that websites can be used for, but there are some things that all websites do.

2. Simplicity

Simplicity is the best way to think about how your website will be used and how people will use it. Below, we show you how to make your design simple.

Colour

Colour has the power to communicate messages and make people feel certain ways. You can change how your customers think about your brand by finding a color scheme that fits your brand. Keep the number of colors you can choose from to less than five. Complementary colors are very good at making things look good together. Type

Visual hierarchy is how things are put together in order of importance. This can be done by the size, colour, imagery, contrast, typography, white space, texture, and style of each piece. When you use visual hierarchy, one of the most important things you can do is make a focal point. This shows visitors where the most important information is.

6. WHAT YOU WANT TO LEARN

It is important for a website to have both good design and good content. Using powerful language, great content can draw in visitors and influence them, then turn them into customers.

7. A GRID-BASED LAYOUT

Help you organize your design and keep your content in order with the help of grids. There is a grid on the page that helps you put things together and keep them clean. The grid-based layout places content in a clean, rigid grid structure with columns, sections, and rows that line up and feel balanced and make the website look good.
